The goal of this lab is to learn how to measure electric capacitance and to investigate the series and parallel connections of capacitors.
Lab equipment: C1=22nF; C2=47nF; C3=100nF; KT9808 multimeter.
Tasks 1. Measure the capacitance of each capacitor independently. To do this, switch the multimeter to an appropriate range.
Warning: Take a closer look at the multimeter to find out which sockets should be used.
Task 2. Connect C1 and C2 in series and measure their equivalent capacitance. Obtain the same result analytically.
Task 3. Connect C1, C2 and C3 in series and measure their equivalent capacitance. Obtain the same result analytically.
Task 4. Connect C1 and C2 in parallel and measure their equivalent capacitance. Obtain the same result analytically.
Task 5. Connect C1, C2 and C3 in parallel and measure their equivalent capacitance. Obtain the same result analytically.
